Dr. Khoury listened to my concerns describing my pain and gave me hope that an injection should help relieve my pain soon. I was hoping for injection today but had to follow protocol with consultation today and scheduled local injection for tomorrow.Glad he was able to work me in fairly quickly.

Today is Wednesday, 4/19/24. I saw Dr. Khoury again last week. He’s very concerned with my pain issues. I have so many problems. 1. My right foot, I’ve had 5 surgeries on that foot. I had 3 neuromas removed. That left a lot of scar tissue on the ball of my foot so it feels like I’ve taped a rock on the ball of my foot and I’m walking on it. That makes walking very painful. Sometimes my feet, ankles and legs are so swollen I can’t get my shoes on. That makes my feet and legs ache and hurt so bad I can’t walk without extreme pain. I get cramps in my legs mostly at night. I woke up this morning with a leg cramp so bad I was trying to get out of bed and fell. It felt like the calf muscle was twisting and turning. It hurt so bad I couldn’t get up off the floor for several minutes until I got my footstool under my elbows and got my foot under me enough to push myself up and managed to get my foot flat on the floor so I could put enough pressure on my foot to get the cramp to stop. I’ve never had it that bad before. 2. Both my knees need replacement surgery. I’ve heard so many scary stories and seen so many people here at the senior place where I live, get knee replacement surgery then they wind up not able to walk and have to take a scooter every where they go. I live by myself. I don’t have family I can stay with or that will come and stay with me. I can’t get help unless I get home healthcare to come and help me. Do you know how much that costs? I’m so afraid of being where I can’t take care of myself. Dr. Khoury wants to get me where I can; where I can walk and be able to do the things I want to do. I know he understands. He wants to get me off all this pain medication. I really hope he can. It’s getting so hard to get it. The pharmacy sent me a notification Monday afternoon that my rx was in progress and I called them and asked them about it. A young man said if everything was ok, he would get it filled for me. After dinner, about 7:00PM, I got a friend to drive me to the pharmacy to pick up my RX. When I got there, they told me it wasn’t ready, that they were out of stock and couldn’t fill it then or even the next day. They didn’t know when they would get any more medicine. It turned out, that the next morning, Tuesday, they sent me a notification that it was ready to be picked up. Monday night, I was so upset, hurting so bad, so scared of running out of medicine, I didn’t sleep much at all. I was so upset and scared Tuesday morning when a friend stopped by to have coffee with me I couldn’t keep from crying. My friend offered to drive me to the pharmacy to talk to the pharmacist and try to find out when they could fill it. I declined because I wasn’t dressed or in any condition to talk to anyone. After my friend left, I got a notification that my RX was ready to be picked up. It took me about 3 hours to get dressed and I drove to the pharmacy hoping it really would be ready. It was. Dr Khoury knows how it is and understand that if he can get me off these meds, and get my back fixed, my life will be so much better. 3. My lower back is the number 1 problem with pain. I have osteoarthritis in my spine. I have recently developed Scoliosis in my spine. I also have degenerative disc disease. I had several herniated discs in my spine. The next to the last X-rays Dr. Khoury ordered showed I don’t have any discs left between three of my vertebrae. He wants to put spacers in my spine. I’ve talked to my deacon, a neighbor down the hall from me, and another friend and leader at my church. They all confirm what Dr. Khoury has told me. They have all had this surgery and recommend it. I’m still very scared. I’m highly allergic to the contrast dye they use, and to any antibiotic. I have to get my infectious disease doctor involved before I take any antibiotics. In addition to all the things mentioned above, I have arthritis in my bones and joints. My bones hurt and ache so badly when the weather changes or gets cloudy and rainy. And, 4. , I have Fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed after having “trigger point” injections and having 12 out of 18 “points” discovered. I hope I said all that correctly. I just remember I was put on a table, injected 18 times and 12 of those injections confirmed Fibromyalgia. That was in 2001. I’m sure that Dr. Khoury will be able to find some way to help me have a better life. I know he cares, and I know he has several means to try to help me. I’m 82 years old. I’m on my 2nd pacemaker. I have about 5 years left on it. I’m trusting Dr. Khoury to help me be as pain free and do as much as possible. Constant pain is a horrible way to live. Being confined to a scooter severely limits what a person can do. I know he can find a way to help me.

Dr. Khoury is very involved in his patients well being;! His staff are very welcoming. The most I have had to wait to be seen is 15 minutes. I would not hesitate to refer others to his care.

Dr. Khoury was wonderful and his nurses were also. I had a procedure done and have no complaints with any of it. I highly recommend him and his staff for your pain and suffering with it. I have a lot of health issues and have fibromyalgia and a lot of pain, the procedure he done on my sciatic nerve has helped me alot. I give everyone in his office and him a high 5 !!!
